Portfolio

Here are some examples of my work. Because most of my work has been for other companies I am limited in what I can show here. Some other projects included:

pressforwardpr

I recently built a new site for Press Forward PR. It uses a sleek interface while still providing standardized navigation for text-only users and search engines. All images and content are controlled by the owner. A sitemap for search engines is automatically generated by the CMS. I also built a simple blog that fits with the overall design of the site.

Blue Ledge Gallery

A recent gallery site. The owners of the site are able to control the slideshow and contents of other pages using a custom designed CMS. The slideshow uses AJAX so that it doesn't reload the page every time the user clicks on a new slide. The address of the page is updated for every slide so that users can cut and paste the address to share favorite slides with friends. A sitemap for search engines is automatically generated by the CMS.

Green Store

The Green Store is an online store that I built entirely from my own code. It allows for categories and sub-categories, and gives the admin flexibility in how the products are displayed.

Vermont Folklife Center Pawlet Community Study

The Pawlet Community Study is a database of photos, interviews, and other data that was collected in Pawlet, VT in the early 1980s. Because the database has keywords for the photos, it allows for searches such as seeing all the entries with people wearing plaid.

BladeBase

A database for people shopping for a pocket or kitchen knife. The site lets the user search using a variety of criteria. The administartor of the site uses a customized control panel for updating the database. Uses Google AdWords and Custom Search.

Middlebury College Ski Team Blog

I made updates to the Middlebury College Ski Team's blog system that included the ability to embed YouTube videos.

Peak Creative

For this site I was given graphics files which I turned into working web pages with a Content Management System and database.

VASFAA

A CMS-based web site for the Vermont Association of Financial Aid Administrators. The CMS allows for multiple levels of admins, so that representatives from the individual schools can login and update their contact information. The main admin can add/edit/delete the other users.

Paquette Self Storage

A very simple site for a local business. A Google Map is used to provide directions, and Google Analytics are used for traffic analysis. I took the photos and optimized them for the web.

Height Photography's Galleries

I made updates to the Galleries section of Height Photography's site, which included using techniques that cause the main photo to change when the user moves their mouse over a thumbnail.
