Portfolio

Here are some examples of a variety of different types of sites. Because most of my work has been for other companies I am limited in what I can show here. Some other projects included:

As a freelance programmer I often modify existing sites and have to figure out others' code in order to properly implement the changes.

I am the webmaster for a Continuing Medical Education company that offers online learning as well as nationwide conferences. During my time working for that company I have completely rewritten their online commerce, education, and conference scheduling systems, in addition to regular updates and server management.

I am also working with another company that is developing an online community for Healthcare Information Technology professionals.

Claremont Chamber of Commerce

Greater Claremont Chamber of Commerce
I recently built a site that was designed by RGB 24/7. I was given PDFs of the layouts and built the site from there. The contents of the site are controlled by the owner using my CMS system. Members are able to login and update their information. Uses a Google Map for directions and Google Analytics for traffic analysis.

Skihaus of Vermont

Skihaus of Vermont
A recent basic site for a local business. A Google map is used for directions, and I setup a Facebook page which is linked from the site. I did the design and programming.

Ben Curtis Construction

Design was done by The Image Farm. They gave me PSDs which I "sliced" to produce a working website. Features include a slideshow with slider control, contact form that emails the site owner, and some DHTML.

Blue Ledge Gallery

Blue Ledge Gallery
A gallery site. The owners of the site are able to control the slideshow and contents of other pages using a custom designed CMS. The slideshow uses AJAX so that it doesn't reload the page every time the user clicks on a new slide. The address of the page is updated for every slide so that users can cut and paste the address to share favorite slides with friends. A sitemap for search engines is automatically generated by the CMS.

Paquette Self Storage

Paquette Self Storage
A very simple site for a local business. A Google Map is used to provide directions, and Google Analytics are used for traffic analysis. I took the photos and optimized them for the web.

Vermont Folklife Center Pawlet Community Study

Vermont Folklife Center Pawlet Community Study
The Pawlet Community Study is a database of photos, interviews, and other data that was collected in Pawlet, VT in the early 1980s. Keywords allow for detailed searches. I worked on this 5 years ago.

BladeBase

BladeBase
A database for people shopping for a pocket or kitchen knife. The site lets the user search using a variety of criteria. The administrator of the site uses a customized control panel for updating the database. Uses Google AdWords and Custom Search. I built this about 3 years ago. It still needs extensive data entry, but it's a good example of product searches.
